MA in ministry, Pioneer Mission Leadership Training (CMS)

CMS run a flexible MA programme in ministry that allows you to study part time over three years. Alongside other pioneers grappling with similar issues, you will:

  • learn the art of theological reflection;
  • dig deeper into spirituality;
  • study theology from a global perpsective;
  • refine your pioneer ministry;
  • learn about mission leadership;
  • engage in mission entrepreneurship;
  • practice emerging worship;
  • discuss mission issues for our world today.

Candidates are required to produce six portfolios and a dissertation and the beauty of the portfolio system is that it allows you to play to your strengths.

MA in Mission & Ministry (St John's, Nottingham)

Involved in ministry and mission and want to deepen your theological understanding and reflection on practice?

St John's MA aims to enable you to engage critically with contemporary challenges within a deeply-sourced biblical and theological framework and in relation to the practice of mission and ministry. It is open to clergy and lay people of any tradition or denomination. The course tutor is Dr Ben Fulford and the course is validated by the University of Nottingham.

PG DIP/MA in Consultancy for Mission and Ministry (Cranmer Hall)

This course allows you to develop your practice in context with support from experienced consultants. Over two years there will be six residentials in Durham at which core teaching is delivered, and you will work with fellow students on case studies to develop your consultancy skills.

You will have an opportunity to participate in the following modules plus a dissertation if you choose to work to Masters level:

  • Consultancy Practice and Theory
  • How Mission can shape the Church
  • Developing a Consultancy Model
  • The Organisational Context of Mission and Ministry
  • Organisational Issues in Church and Community Consulting

MA in contemporary ecclesiology (King's College, London)

Designed in collaboration with ministers and practitioners, Kings College's programmes offer diversity of course content and teaching expertise. Their MA in contemprary ecclesioligy may be of particular interest to those involved in fresh expressions of church.

MA in Missional Leadership (ForMission College)

The MA in Missional Leadership equips Christians for leadership roles within the church, with particular reference to understanding and engaging with the challenges of leadership in a post-Christian, postmodern cultural setting.

This is a practical, supported distance-learning theology course, in which the academic context of the course is reflected on within the students' own ministry setting.

The course is validated by York St John University.
